Operating System = Windows 95 Only
Annoyance level = Medium Damage Level = 0/5 The Objective The objective is to move the Start button around on the task bar, or to remove it completely from the taskbar. The Steps Click twice on the Start button so it has the dotted line around it. Then press the "Alt" and the "-" keys simultaneously. This will bring up the option box that allows you to move or close the Start button. If you choose move, you will have to use the arrow keys to move it around the taskbar. NOTE: Moving it doesn't stay if you move the entire start bar with your mouse, and ending task on explorer.exe or rebooting will put it back in the corner.

Is it disturbing to you when every other Web page you visit has a different font size?. One web page's font is too small, and another web page's fonts are too big.
Well here's a way to fix that and set each web page's fonts to just the size you want. In Internet Explorer, select: Tools-Internet Options, choose the General tab, click the Accessibility button, and check Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages (the wording varies depending on your IE version). In Netscape 6 and 7, choose Edit-Preferences, select Fonts (double-click Appearance if you don't see 'Fonts' listed), and then either check Use my default fonts or uncheck Allow documents to use other fonts, depending on your version (the wording of these choices also varies). Now all Web page fonts should be of uniform size on all pages.

NERO: how to verify the validity of the serial number you use through the nerocmd.exe command
Nero will accept a serial number even if it is invalid, and will (randomly) occasionally burn you some bad CDs (while telling you that the burn was sucessful...) Therefore it makes sense to test the serial number right after installation (b4 burning anything). Under Dos prompt, go to Nero's directory, type the following: nerocmd --listdrives That is: nerocmd, then a space, then 2 dashes, then listdrives. If you see a message with "OK" in the end of it, then the serial you used is fine. Otherwise, locate another set of number and try again. It really works... ;) Here are some helpful hints in using DOS: 1. Go to your AHEAD/NERO folder (wherever it is in your PC...) and Open it 2. From: START>RUN Type: COMMAND -> click OK 3. Type: nerocmd --listdrives [Enter key] 4. Done!

If you don't already have a copy of MusicMatch Jukebox, download one from musicmatch.com. The "Plus" version has more features and burns CDs faster, but the free version works just fine for converting files
1. Install music match box and then restart your computer if it asks 2. open music matchbox and click file convert files 3. in the bottom right hand corner called 'destination type' change it to mp3 pro. 4.you can edit the bitrate but the higher the bitrate the bigger the size 5. choose the songs you want to convert and click start ***if you want to try something different repeat step one and 2 and instead of making the destintion type mp3 pro make it 'mp3pro vbr' again the lower the setting the smaller the size.

If you wanna make a autorun file for that CD you are ready to burn just read this...
1) You open notepad 2) now you writ: [autorun] OPEN=INSTALL\Setup_filename.EXE ICON=INSTALL\Setup_filename.EXE Now save it but not as a .txt file but as a .inf file. But remember! The "Setup_filename.EXE" MUST be replaced with the name of the setup file. And you also need to rember that it is not all of the setup files there are called '.exe but some are called '.msi 3) Now burn your CD with the autorun .inf file included. 4) Now set the CD in you CD drive and wait for the autorun to begin or if nothing happens just double-click on the CD drive in "This Computer"

If you want to encrypt the contents of an individual file or directory, Windows XP Pro will do the trick, provided you enable NTFS on your hard drive. To encrypt a file, right-click on it to bring up the Properties window. Click on the Advanced button, then in the Advanced Attributes dialog box click on Encrypt contents to secure data. This will encrypt the file (using either DES, which employs a 56-bit key on each 64-bit block of data, or 3DES, which uses a 56-bit key three times on each 64-bit block of data), and it will provide a certificate just for you. This certificate is key; if you reinstall Windows or otherwise lose your user account, your access to the encrypted files will be gone, too. You need to export your certificates to back them up: For detailed instructions, search on export certificate in Windows Help. Windows XP does not require you to enter your password when you open the encrypted file. Once you log on to a session, encrypted files are available for you—and anyone who walks up to your system—to view. Windows XP Home doesn't support this method. Both XP Home and XP Pro, however, let you create password-protected compressed files. To do this, right-click on the desired file and choose Send To | Compressed (zipped) Folder. Open the resulting folder and select Add a Password from the File menu; delete the original file. Note that this encryption is relatively weak. It should dissuade casual users but won't put up much of a fight against someone determined to hack it apart.

ok, this is a little trick that i usually use to find cd keys with google.
if your looking for a serial number for nero (for example) goto google.com and type nero 94FBR and it'll bring it up this works great in google HOW DOES THIS WORK? Quite simple really. 94FBR is part of a Office 2000 Pro cd key that is widely distributed as it bypasses the activation requirements of Office 2K Pro. By searching for the product name and 94fbr, you guarantee two things. 1)The pages that are returned are pages dealing specifically with the product you're wantinga serial for. 2)Because 94FBR is part of a serial number, and only part of a serial number, you guarantee that any page being returned is a serial number list page. I hope this trick help you finding your ccd keys easily Enjoy :)

First you need a tool called "Resource Hacker". This free program allows you to change resources in any .exe file such as "Explorer.exe", which includes the [Start] button's Label. You can visit Download.com and search there for "Resource Hacker".
After you download it, follow the guide here: Step 1: A - Run "Resource Hacker" and open the file "%windir%\Explorer.exe". B - You see a Tree of all Resources in this file, expand the "String Table" C - Find the "start" and replace it with your own text. then press the [Compile Script] button. D - Save "Explorer.exe" as "MyStart.exe" DONT save it as Explorer.exe, do "save as.." and give it a new name. E - Quit "Resource Hacker". Step 2: A - Click on the [Start] button and choose the "Run..." item from the start menu. (Or use the shortcut key WinKey+R) B - Type "RegEdit" in the Run "Dialog Box". And then press the [Ok] buton to run the "Registry Editor" program. C - Go to: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" and find the "Shell" property. D - Replace value of the "Shell" property to "MyStart.exe". E - Quit "Registry Editor". F - Restart your system. Note about Registry Editor: if you did not find the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon", you can search the Registry for the "Explorer.exe", to do this use the Edit Menu | Find Next (Ctrl+F). AmirBehzad Eslami's site has a handy tool for altering your start button, which makes life much easier, you can find his site here: h**p://www.startbtn.main-page.com

How To Convert File System, fat - fat32 to ntfs
open a dos prompt and give the command convert d: /fs:ntfs this command would convert your d: drive to ntfs. if the system cannot lock the drive, you will be prompted to convert it during next reboot. Normally you should select yes. Conversion from fat/fat32 to ntfs is non-destructive, your data on the drive will NOT be lost. Be aware that converting to ntfs will make that partition of your drive unreadable under dos unless you have ntfs utilites to do so.
